Autodesk Advance Steel 2019 has got ready to use Connection Vault can help save time. Is there a way to set the default for the database to be the GTC one?.MDF file is selected for the export process in Management Tools or does it have to be through the SQL Server Application? Is there any way to make sure that the correct.Do we have access to the correct Material and Section mapping files for Advance Steel Sections/Profiles (I believe it is a XML format)?.Questions regarding the above information: So, I am actually not 100% sure if once I have changed these if the changes are getting pushed into the model or not.Īlso if I click the button circled in red at the top of the image below (“Open installed databases” is what it is called in the tool tips) it appears to revert back to what I guess in the default database. Once I am finished making these changes I do not see a load settings button located anywhere.

I have been editing my GTC Profile conversions as well as the Profile Export conversions via the Advanced Steel Management Tools shown here: This is mentioned in the forum link above. In the video though the individual does have the correct Advance Steel mapping files for both the section and material types.Īlso I personally have never worked with SQL Server Management tool that continues to keep coming up in different discussions that I have read online. The other video that we have used with some success is this one here:įrom this video we were able to get the model to fully export and then import into RISA but that is where again we ran into the same issue listed above. My coworker and I have gone through the sections in the database file to make sure that we are lining up with what is being shown in the examples above. Here is the Autodesk community page we have been basing this all off of: All of our shapes are defaulted to different generic shape type that holds no values.

After doing some digging we were able to find that it is a problem with the section mapping not lining up with the RISA software. We have been able to import the CIS/2 File through the translator app (mention in the youtube video below), but when the R3D file is opened in Risa we are given error warnings and errors for unrecognized shapes. We are currently working on exporting an analysis model from advanced steel to RISA.
